China Technology Development Looks Ready for Rise

posted by MR WAVETHEORY at 7/29/2006 02:49:00 AM

China Technology Development (CTDC) is a stock that has risen from $1.50 at the beginning of the week to $3.15 at the close of the week. There is little news from the company, but all things China appear to be hot today. China stocks can make investors a fortune. Earlier during the year, China Technology Development traded as high as $14.50, also on no news. According to the SEC filings, the company is owned by the Beijing Municipal Government. Given the amount of speculation in China tech companies, I would not be surprised if it rose back to those levels.

Rackable Ends Up on The Liquidation Rack

Rackable is off 30% after reporting earnings, $23.64 (-$11.27) off significantly from the close at $34.91. It goes to show why now is not the time to own tech and a great time to short.

Bye Bye Baidu

It looks like Baidu, the search darling from China, had a hiccup with its earnings. While earnings this quarter ramped significantly at 41% sequentially, the grow rate for next quarter is just 25%. That's not good enough when your forward earnings multiple is 56x 2007 earnings.
